an integrative approach is used with each client receiving a custom-designed massage based upon information exchanged during consultation. a variety of massage techniques are used.

Shila Abhyanga

in sanskrit, 'shila' means stone, 'abhy' means to rub and 'anga' means limb. together, they form the sanskrit word for stone massage. heated stone massage is a form of thermotherapy. shila abyhanga dates back thousands of years and can be traced to the ancient healing traditions of almost every culture. warm, smooth river stones are held in the therapist's hands during the massage to melt away tension and stress. warmth from the stones eases muscle stiffness, encourages the exchange of blood and lymph circulation throughout the body, and prepares the muscles and fascia for deep-tissue work. note: healing stones are contraindicated for prenatal massage.
